Research Related Work:
I spent about a year working with Dr. Mi Zhang at Michigan State University on a mobile sensing application for analyzing mental health related problems on college campuses.
I also spent a semester working with Dr. Vishnu Boddeti at Michigan State University on implementing a binarized convolutional neural network.
- Summer 2017 I worked at Rockwell Collins (now known as Collins Aerospace) in Cedar Rapids working on transmission of packets used specifically for airplane communications.
- Summer 2019 I worked at NASA Frontier Development Labs to synthesize biosensor data from astronaut wearables (specifically, ECG signals). Astronauts do not typically exhibit heart conditions prior to space travel (they are screened beforehand); however, studies have shown that such conditions may arise as the result of heart atrophy from prolonged microgravity. In addition, clinical ECG sensors (wet electrodes) require a patient to be lying down, preventing continuous monitoring of astronauts - for this reason we focus on generating signals from an astronaut wearable device that senses ECG using dry electrodes. The resulting challenge was to synthesize ECG signals from the astronaut wearable device while encompassing heart conditions such as Atrial Fibrillation.
