Biography: I received PhD from the Department of Electrical Engineering at UCLA in June 2007 as a graduate student researcher in the Networked and Embedded Systems Laboratory. I received my Masters in Embedded Computing Systems from UCLA in June 2003. Prior to joining UCLA, I did my undergrad at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi where I majored in Electrical Engineering.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, 2001.
  • M.S in Electrical Engineering with major in Embedded Computing Systems, University of California, Los Angeles, 2003.
Thesis: Exploring computation hierarchy and distribution in sensor networks
    (done at NESL)
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering with major in Embedded Computing Systems, University of California, Los Angeles, 2007.
Thesis: Memory Protection in Low-power Embedded Systems
    (done at NESL)

Experience:

Fall 2001- present Graduate Student Researcher, Electrical Engineering Department, UCLA
June 2005 - September 2005 NEC Research Lab, Princeton, NJ
May 2001 - August 2001 Summer Intern, British Telecom, Martleshamheath, UK
January 2001 - April 2001 Design Engineer (Part Time), Angeles Design Systems, Los Angeles, USA
May 2000 - July 2000 Summer Intern, Kent Ridge Digital Labs, Singapore

Research Interests: I broadly work in the area of embedded sensor networks or "smart dust". My research interests are in operating system design, programming techniques and middleware services for sensor networks. I am currently working on software fault tolerance for resource constrained sensor nodes.
