A Computational Framework for Quality of Information Analysis for Detection-oriented Sensor Networks In Proceedings of MILCOM 2008 [Accepted] , 7 pages , San DIego, CA , November 2008. NESL Technical Report #: TR-UCLA-NESL-200808-01
| ABSTRACT | |
|
An application planner’s point of view of sensor-enabled detection systems is considered and a hypothesis-testing-based computational framework for evaluating thequality of information (QoI) supported by a sensor networkdeployment is explored. Through a common, modular analysisframework, that decomposes the computational burden of QoIanalysis, the QoI properties of various decision architecturesare investigated and trade-offs explored at the sensor, cluster, and system-level. Both finite and infinite-sized networks areconsidered and extensions of the analysis framework to faultysensor and the impact of calibration are also investigated.
